So I was out for a trip around downtown last week when I ran into the old converted school bus donut shop, Ol’ School Donuts (@OlSchooldonuts)
So while I thought I was going to get a very large donut I was pleasantly surprised that I got a 10 mini donuts on a french fry plate (you know the kind you get at the rink)
So I ordered up the Maple Bacon donuts because 1) I love maple 2) I love bacon.
It was great, not amazing, but great. See for me much like getting paid it’s the same way I feel about maple, I could always use a little more. Don’t expect the maple donut of the Tim Horton’s variety, this is a gooey glaze of a maple. The bacon was a great addition but afterwards I felt like I was picking left over bacon bits off the bottom of the plate. The donuts themselves were great, a nice change from the usual donuts that we’ve become used to.
That said there’s a lot more flavors on the truck, I’ll be try a few others and for 5 bucks it’s a great snack. Why am I posting a review of Ol School Donuts? I needed an excuse to make a post from my phone to try that out. Keep an eye on their twitter to find out where they are at and grab yourself some when you’re out and about.
